At the end of November, the Eco-Committee launched their first competition of the year and all classes in the school took part. P1-4 pupils were given the task of creating an Eco-Code character and P5-7 pupils had the challenge of designing a new Eco-Code for our school. The standard of entries was very high and the Eco-Committee had a tough job deciding who the overall winners were. After much deliberation, the overall winner of the Eco-Code character was Lisa from P3/4 who designed the cartoon character, ‘Eco Earth’, as shown below. The winner of the P5-7 competition was Abbie who designed a very creative and catchy poem for our new Eco-Code of conduct. Our new Eco-Code incorporates aspects of all 3 topics which we are focusing on in our Eco-School Action Plan this year. These topics are Healthy Living, Energy and Litter. Members of the Eco-Committee revealed our new Eco-Code and character and Mrs Thompson presented the winners with a prize. It was a great competition with lots of superb entries.
