EA Literacy Service Newsletter to Parents
The second edition of EA's Literacy Service Newsletter has now launched and we invite you to share this with your child/children at home. The content of the newsletter is for all parents and children, who at some point in their school career may experience difficulties with literacy.
This issue focuses on Reading with lots of useful, practical ideas and resources to use at home. It also contains details on how the newsletter can be read out loud using assistive technology (Texthelp Read & Write and Immersive Reader) and provides instructions for this.
Please copy and paste the link below into the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser to view at home and explore this amazing new resource for Northern Ireland pupils, parents and schools.

The Literacy Service would value your feedback via the Survey Monkey at the end of the newsletter. Any contributions of your child’s work showing their super skills, comments and stories may be included in future issues, with your consent.
In this edition we are extending the naming competition launched in our first issue. We want to find an original name for our newsletter, chosen by our readers. If your child has an idea or suggestion for a name, please send it to us in school via our email address. All suggestions will be considered and the best sent to the newsletter editors. The winning suggestion, the child who made it and the school that the child attends will be part of a feature in the next edition.
We hope you enjoy sharing this new project with your child or young person. It is intended to be an important support from the Literacy Service for pupils, parents and school at this time of remote learning.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Janet McCann
